All claims for prescription drugs must first be submitted to a parent's plan, employer's plan, spouse's plan, or RAMQ drug insurance plan before being submitted to your student Health Plan. Only certain eligible drugs are covered by the Plan. See the Health section for a list.
Quebec residents must be registered with the RAMQ or a private or public drug insurance plan. A student health care plan is not considered a private or public drug insurance plan. If you do not have access to a private plan, you must register with the RAMQ. To register for the provincial drug insurance plan or to learn more about it, visit the RAMQ website.
If you are not covered by either plan (RAMQ or a private or public drug insurance plan), you cannot submit claims for prescription drugs to your student Health Plan.
To claim: 1. Present your Medicare card at the pharmacy and tell the pharmacist that you're registered with the RAMQ Plan. The cost of your medication will be processed according to your provincial health coverage. 2. Pay any deductible or co-payment at the pharmacy. 3. Submit a claim to your student Plan insurer using your preferred method (direct debit card, mobile app, online, or by mail). Find out more in the How to claim section.
